In his 19th NHL season, all spent with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Evgeni Malkin reached a historic milestone by scoring his 500th career goal. With a Penguins power play just expired, Malkin broke toward the net and received a crisp pass from Sidney Crosby, stationed below the goal line. Although his initial attempt was stopped, Malkin's determination paid off as he slammed the rebound home while sprawled on the ice. Finishing the game with one goal and three assists, Malkin delivered a memorable performance in front of an electrified home crowd.
