The play begins with Hughes’ older brother, Jack, passing him the puck in the neutral zone. The fourth overall pick from the 2021 NHL Draft then regroups and curls up ice, gaining speed as he enters the offensive zone where he slides through two Washington defenders to get a shot from the high slot before wrapping home the rebound for the game winner.
