With just under three minutes remaining in the game while holding a one-goal lead, Adam Fox begins with a great defensive read intercepting a shot-pass right in front of the New York Rangers net. Later on the same shift, the Rangers break out of their zone ending up on a two-on-one with a fatigued Tampa Bay Lightning squad on the ice. Fox, with fresher legs, joins the rush where he banks home the rebound off of Chris Kreider’s shot for his first career goal. The insurance marker padded the Rangers lead by two late in the third period. Fox had an impressive rookie season in 2019-20 amassing 42 points and a plus-22 rating in 70 games played.
