Mike Richards #91
In Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Final, the Philadelphia Flyers faced the Montreal Canadiens with a chance to secure their first Stanley Cup Final appearance since 1997. Early in the first period, Flyers captain Mike Richards delivered a game-changing shift that electrified the home crowd and set the tone for the night. Down 1-0 and on the penalty kill, Richards started the sequence with a thunderous hit on a Canadiens defenseman. Moments later, as the puck was cleared into the neutral zone, Richards chased it down, diving to chip it past the Canadiens’ goalie, who had come out to play it. With the net wide open, Richards calmly backhanded the puck into the goal to tie the game with a shorthanded effort. The Flyers rode the momentum, adding three more goals in the game, with Richards assisting on two of them, sealing a 4-2 victory. Officially Licensed Product of the NHL, NHLPA, and/or NHLAA.
