Patrick Roy #93
Amid the Montreal Canadiens' record-setting journey to the 1993 Stanley Cup Final, Patrick Roy showcased brilliance as he anchored his team to championship glory. In a pivotal moment during Game 4 of the Final in Los Angeles, with the score deadlocked, Roy made a crucial save on Luc Robitaille with just over one minute left in the third period. As Roy secured the rebound with his glove, Tomas Sandstrom attempted to pry it loose with a poke but was unsuccessful. The perpetually confident goaltender responded with a wink and a smile, leaving an indelible mark on the situation. The Canadiens later won Game 4 in overtime, securing a commanding 3-1 series lead, which they sealed with a home victory in the next game. Roy's outstanding contributions throughout the 1993 playoffs – during which he won a record 10 overtime games and posted a .929 save percentage along with a 2.13 goals-against average – earned him the Conn Smythe Trophy. It was his second of three playoff MVPs during his career.
