In a pivotal moment during Game 4 of the Final in Los Angeles, with the score deadlocked, Roy made a crucial save on Luc Robitaille with just over one minute left in the third period. As Roy secured the rebound with his glove, Tomas Sandstrom attempted to pry it loose with a poke but was unsuccessful. The perpetually confident goaltender responded with a wink and a smile, leaving an indelible mark on the situation. The Canadiens later won Game 4 in overtime, securing a commanding 3-1 series lead, which they sealed with a home victory in the next game.
