In the 2010 NHL Premiere Series held in Helsinki, Finland, Ward stopped Antti Miettinen's final shootout attempt to give Carolina back-to-back wins over the Minnesota Wild. Ward had a busy night, stopping 41 shots, in addition to his three shootout saves, in the 2-1 Carolina victory.
